If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just received. Very nice kit. Top quality products with heavy duty wiring and professional switch harness already completed. Hard part is figuring out where to install it. Valve assembly is quite large. Not much room. While under car, do I remove resonator and install larger cat back piping? Will keep pics coming through process as ABEL RACING begins install.

1st pic: New X-pipe replacing stock resonator(middle exhaust under car) with the two electric valve cut outs placed next to it before welding them in place.

2nd pic: Unbolted stock exhaust in the center including the resonator. Left alone the stock cats up front (1st pair with O2 sensor) in place and left the rear stock mufflers with stock pipes in place. For those of you who know my previous posts, I also removed my MSA cat delete pipes(2nd pair of cats) with the center exhaust removal. We spent a good hour deciding where/how to install the valves and came up with the PERFECT spot where the resonator used to be. It has space on the sides for the electric valve servos to fit without rubbing. Very nice!

3rd pic: One of the shop guys son was there and called our project a jet pack. We had to try it on him.

Testing fitment.....

Great fitment in place of the stock resonator. Here are two pics.

1st pic: Test fitting our install. This shows new center section with Electronic Cut Out Valves with down pipes and X-Pipe in place. Amazingly appears stock at first with little indication of anything different.

2nd pic: Close up shot of Electric Cut Out Valves with down pipes and X-Pipe section.

Thanks for this thread and the updates...I'd love to hear a video/sound clip of your R-spec now...I have no doubt it sounds like a beast w/ those cut-outs opened up.

Cheers!

Hey guys! You won't believe what you are about to hear!!!!!!:D. We ran out of time at the shop tonight to take video, but we got everything welded and completely installed. It looks fairly stock to the untrained eye which is credit to my guys at Abel Racing and their quality work. We still have the wiring harness and electronic switch to install.

Quick test before leaving. With valves closed, the exhaust is stock with new X-pipe replacing stock resonator and running through stock mufflers. This is equally quiet just like stock exhaust sound. I temporarily connected switch to open the electric valve cut outs and :eek:GLORY TO MY EARS:eek: my Rspec sounded like a NASCAR. Blip the throttle, it revs quick like a dragster!!! Turned out so good, I can't wait to post video.

In my opinion, this set up trumps all exhausts and you never have to worry again about getting stuck with a loud or droning exhaust. I can open the valves part way-half way-all the way.....or any way in-between. We didn't get my switch installed tonight so I set the valves to just barely open for my drive home. All I can say is WOW! It has zero effect on interior sound. No drone. Absoluetly ZERO drone, yet I have a hint of deep V8 throaty-ness. It was a good test run coming home tonight to explain how cool it is to set the level of sound you want. Make sense? Oh, and the car breathes MUCH EASIER now. My MPG was 33 coming home at 70mph. Never seen above 29 before. Hope to complete Wed with vids. Busy work schedule Tuesday.

Is it Wednesday yet?!?! MUST... HAVE... VIDEO...

Hey, if you don't mind, when you take the video, can you do with valves closed and open? And maybe from inside, open and closed too?

I know it's never the same as in real life... but we're dying to hear it! THANKS!

Here are my ideas:

* up on lift opening and closing valves filming valves
* inside car opening & closing valves
* ESC unplug fuse WOT burnout with valves open
* street side open & close comparisons
* Dyno runs

Crap: got to be back to work. ;)

Wow... I mean... WOW! I am so happy for you.

If I did not have other family projects I would be all over this. Definitely on my list for later. Thanks so much for your trail blazing and for sharing with us!

Must... resist.... urge... to buy... now....

Fun mod, post more videos when you have a chance!

That sorta hits me in the same way as when I see a stunningly beautiful woman. Primal lust and awe all rolled up in one!

So would you mind sharing the costs involved with the mod? the kit, the skilled work, bits and pieces?

Looking forward to seeing the control integration. PLEASE, no drilling into the dash! Awesome if (I'm dreaming here) the damper control could somehow be integrated into the car's DIS!

-Any concerns for exhaust fumes in the cabin when in awesome mode? especially while stopped I would think.

Take a look at this cutout control...

$65 on eBay.

Imagine an admiring crowd, a remote starter, and then this thing! <drool>

Just installed switch. Custom bracket under drivers seat. Lower right hand corner. Just got started today 3pm.

No drilling here. Trying to run wires through this section. Almost directly center behind motor.

Cool switch in above post, but it's no match for my $499 duel valves with heavy duty wiring with weather protection and heat insulated shilding. All in the details. At least I am telling myself this so I feel better. ;)
