Overview
The 2009 North American Car of the Year-winning Genesis returns this year with the same starting price, $33,000 excluding $800 freight, and the same great value.
For 2011MY the award-winning Tau® V8 engine, named one of Ward’s 10 best engines for two consecutive years, receives a 10-horsepower increase (introduced as a running change in the 2010MY) and continues to offer buyers the option to use Premium or Regular fuel. The Genesis 4.6 is rated at 385 HP with premium fuel and 378 on regular. The Tau produces more horsepower and torque than the powerplants found in Lexus GS460, BMW 550i, Mercedes S550, and Audi A8, and has more horsepower per liter than any of these V8 competitors.
For 2011MY, Genesis 4.6 has further enhanced its already astonishing list of standard equipment by adding more premium features as standard. Genesis 4.6 now comes equipped with features that were previously optional such as the Lexicon® 7.1 Discrete surround-sound audio system with 17 speakers, Ultimate Navigation System featuring the intuitive Driver Information System (DIS) and large 8-inch screen, smart cruise control, electronic parking brake, cooled driver seat, adaptive front lighting system with HID headlights, and parking assistance system featuring front and rear sensors and rearview camera.
