  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

OK - I'm pretty sure this car doesn't have adaptive volume control like my 2001 Olds Aurora did, but on countless occasions it appears that the volume goes up while driving. Am I going crazy or is my AMP messing this up as well?

I have had trouble in the past with no audio. I know I need a new AMP and need to find the time to take her in for service.

Both Lexicon audio systems (14-speaker and 17-speaker 7.1 discrete surround) do have speed-sensing volume control.

Do you know of anyway to regulate the amount of volume increase with speed?

No kidding!!! WOW!!!! So I'm not going crazy!

Any chance to change the sensitivity of it?

You're kidding??!! Where did you find this info...perhaps in the manuel? I did not know this at all. I must be getting old.:(

2009 Hyundai Genesis brochure, NP020-G9000, ©2008 Hyundai USA, page 32, under "Interior Features" (see attached. Couldn't upload the entire brochure due to size, so I pulled out page 32 using Acrobat).

I have noticed volume increase with driving speed, but the effect is subtle since the Genesis is so quiet inside!

Interestingly, there is no mention of speed-sensing volume control in the 2010 Genesis brochure on the Hyundai USA website at http://www.hyundaiusa.com/ebrochure/Genesis/.

Now I'm beginning to wonder... But, like ASHDUMP, I have definitely noticed the volume change with speed - specifically, get quieter when I pull up at lights, for example.

As Alice would've said, “Curiouser and curiouser!”

Maybe since I have my music cranked up high most of the time, it's harder to notice:D Might be more noticable at lower volumes.

I've definitely noticed this feature.

Personally, I like it, but I know that some people might not. The ability to tweak or disable it would be nice.

Under "Interior Features" it also said "touch screen display", but you quoted that as from the '09 brochure ? Am I missing something?

So it did, but we all know we don't have that. However, there is a consensus that we do have speed-sensing volume control. Or we all have a hearing problem... :)

It is extremely noticeable on volume 10.

Put your music on volume 10 and then do some highway driving.... It will get really loud for it being on 10.

Any word yet on how to adjust or defeat this "feature?" It's very noticeable to me and I don't like it.

I didn't know it was hard-coded into the system and was just looking for the speed sensitive volume control tap. Couldn't find it and thought there was no such feature like this on the Lexicon systems.
I did notice a little increase in volume as I sped up, or maybe I noticed more of the volume going lower as I come to a stop.
Either way, I'd prefer to turn it off.

Dan
