Default Genesis Coupe 3.8 Alignment

I have a question for all the Coupe drivers out there regarding steering alignment.

I have a new 2010 3.8, and I think the alignment is off. When you let go of the wheel for a second or two, the car pulls quite hard to the right.

THe dealer claims that with the natural curvature of the road, you will get some drift to either right or left, especially with a "sports" car. THey've checked the alignment and say it's bang on spec.

For me, it's quite a bit of drift, and it's like someone is steering the car into the shoulder.

Is anyone else experiencing this type of alignment/drift/crazy behaviour?

I no longer own my Genesis Coupe due to its poor steering behavior. Here's a link to a thread I made based on my experience:

I am going through this very same problem with my 3.8 GT right now. I already took it in once, and Hyundai supplied the wrong alignment numbers! Then they corrected them, and the tech who worked on my car said he fixed it and I know he did work very hard on it), but it's still drifting to the right, and on some roads flat-out steering to the right.

I'll keep you posted.

I'm happy to know I'm not alone in this, but sad to think that it's an issue at all.
I like your comment about flat-out driving to the right, as that's exactly what it is. The notion that road curvature is responsible is nonsense.

Thanks for jumping in. I'm thinking of asking Hyundai what's up with this...

I took my car in to have the tech who initially did the alignment do a test drive with me. This guy does seem very good to me. And during the drive, he said the car was not pulling, but was just following the drop off from the crown in the road. It sounds like BS, but he showed me that the car drifted to the right in the right lane and drifted to the left in the left lane. if it was pulling, it would always go right, so I do believe him.

Apparently, the drift away from the crown is exacerbated by wider tires, which we certainly have on the GC. Also, he said that the aggressive tread I have on my winter tires would also make the drift worse. That also matches my experience, since i didn't notice the drift until my winter tires were installed.

Funny, that's the exact response I got as well.
