Anyone heard if Hyundai or a third party has a cargo net to carry groceries in the trunk so that they don't fly all over the place? I asked at the Hyundai dealer and he couldn't find anything yet, so I guess that answers that part of the question.

You may want to look at the cargo net that came with the car (mine had one anyway) there appears to be alot of hooks thoughout the trunk for them to hook into to. One of those configurations may work for you.

Interesting. I didn't get one with the car. I see all the hooks but don't have a net to hook up to them. Where did you buy your car? I'd like to ask the dealership where you bought it if I can buy one.

Not sure by I paid extra for the rubber trunk insert. Did the net come with that?

I have the net also...

I bought my car at Rick Case Hyundia in Rosewell Ga but the car was swapped for another car from a dealer in Raliegh, NC. I'm not sure which dealer would have supplied the cargo net. I can tell you that it comes in very handy.

Good thought, I also have the rubber trunk insert, they may be a package deal. I didn't order either so not sure if they came together or seperate

Thanks for the info. I'll try contacting Rick Case and see what they say.

My car came with the cargo liner (rubber trunk insert) but no cargo net.

My 3.8 came with a cargo net, although I don't know whether that is included with the car or with the cargo tray option. It's nice because it will function as either a bag net at the rear bumper or as a cargo tie down across the whole trunk.

The Genesis does not "come with" the cargo tray or net, the are extra dealer installed options. If your dealer is so incompetent that they cannot find the part number for those and get one for you, then try another Hyundai dealer. If you only need the net, the shipping would pretty cheap so try the internet (some dealers sell parts on the internet).

The dealership I bought my Genesis from installed the cargo liner but no net. I just called and they say that it doesn't exist. I called another dealership quite a bit away and they have it in their system as still being 'in development'. I haven't been able to find anything about one on the Internet. Do you guys with cargo nets think you have one that is originally made for another vehicle? Maybe a Sonata or Azera one? If that's the case, and they fit, I might go that route. I would really like to get ahold of one.

Hard to tell, because I didn't pay attention much to the packaging when I installed it. I found the packaged net (along with the wheel locks) in the trunk when I got home. It's entirely possible that the dealer threw in a random net, but I'm not sure why they would do that without making a big deal that they did. It wasn't on the window or dealer stickers.

EDIT: I just looked at the net and other than the yellow safety warning tag, there's no label on it that might have had a part number :(

Talk about a "DUH!" moment! I just went out and looked in my trunk and lo and behold on top of the spare (and jack and stuff) was a blue plastic bag. I opened the bag and there was a/the cargo (ala grocery) net. Hmmm! Also in the trunk were two "hooks", one on each side, and two "catches", one on each side and back of the trunk for attaching the net, I presume.

The dealer never mentioned it during the "review-before-delivery" exercise. I'll be going into the dealership this afternoon for bra and tinting; I can ask about other pertinent info re: the net.

Dave, is there a part number on the bag?

No, DG, it is a little 6" to 8" blue plastic (like one mil thickness) bag, closed with a piece of scotch tape. No numbers, no letters, no nuttin'. The net itself has only a yellow label with a caution/warning on it (probably written by our nanny in Washington, DC).

I would bet good money that the dealer didn't put it in without taking the credit for it.

Man, this car is almost overwhelming with all the bells and whistles. And the manuals......I can't believe how much "reference" material I have to read, sooner or later AND on top of that, I'm finding little surprises (like the net). And, btw, have you noticed the size of that battery? YEOW!

Ok, going out to my car right now to check below the carpet in the back.

Oh my! I am just a little challenged aren't I! Guess what I just found next to the spare tire. The weird thing is, I had called Hyundai corporate headquarters to find out if they sold a net and they said no. I asked at the dealership and they said no. I'm guessing though that the factory hides the cargo net under there with every new car they turn out. So why isn't there a part number and why doesn't anyone know about it? Hmmm... Maybe I should call corporate headquarters again and tell them about it so the next person that calls gets a better answer than I got.

Does the Azera or the Sonata have a cargo net? If so, I would guess in the interest of saving money, that all three vehicles would share the same cargo net. Which in turn would have a similar, if not the same part number. Just a hunch.
