  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Well here it is. MagnaFlow mufflers and tips installed today. Unfortunatly it was super windy today, so I had to do the video inside my garage.

It's NOT a loud exhaust, but being enclosed in my garage makes it resonate more.

FYI,

A subwoofer is a must for this video, otherwise all you can hear is the engine.

I will post a better video soon:D

That sounds wicked! Beautiful car too with the wing badge. Is that the small or large wing on the back? Roughly how much does something like replacing the muffers cost?

Thanks for the compliment:) This is the smaller wing which is specifically for the trunk.

I got the mufflers (Satin finish) for $62 a piece. The tips were $100/pair or so. I had a terrible experience with Korean auto imports (which I can post info later) so long story short I bought MagnaFlow tips vs. what was on KAI. The tips were also twice as much on KIA!!! Type 2 tips, which after almost 2 months of battling with KIA to get information about my order, they told me they are not being produced anymore. WTF??

The install for everything was $120.

Oh crap I didn't think of that:D Looks like I will run mine through my home theatre system too. Thanks for the tip:cool:

Funny.....I was the biggest Borla fan, but they are so damn overpriced and I did my research and fell in love not only with MagnaFlows price, but they had the best sound I could even find.

Check this out!

I love the small displacement V-8's such as the 4.0L from Lexus etc.

Dang! Looks and Sounds great!

P.S. how the heck is your garage set up? Your garage door was on the side. Do you have two garage doors?

Lol! I have a large 3 car garage and I pulled in and parked sideways so I'd have a ton of room to set up and get the best camera shot etc.

the garage is the standard 22' deep, but it's 35' wide or long, and has 10' ceilings.....so the sound really flows:)

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Very nice! So what was you source that you bought them from?

I got them at performancepeddler.com

If you go to the MagnaFlow website Magnaflow.com, click products....mufflers etc. etc. you eventually get to the "buy online" tab/selection.

Here's what I ordered:

Looking nice! I'm a big fan of the quad exhaust.

When you have time, can you setup a driveby/acceleration, and some side shots of the exhaust?

Looks great, however back when I had my Marauder, which had Flowmaster mufflers and EXTENDED TIPS, I had problems with the extended tips whenever I had to go into or out of a driveway that was at an angle from the street. The tips would scrape.

Whenever I would be where I stay in Roswell, I always had problems with that driveway. On my trip to Roswell a couple weeks ago, I had NO PROBLEMS, with the stock tips on my Genesis scraping. None.

I'll keep it stock.

My tips won't scrape. I told the installer to tuck the tips as far under as possible so they don't look terrible and stick way out and take people out on the sidewalk when turning.

Only minor thing that sucks is these tips don't have the offset like the ones from KAI, so the outer tips stick out a little since the bumper curves.

I tried to post some pictures of the tips, but I keep getting a message saying "upload failed":(

Anyone know how to make this work? I can email pics to anyone who wants to see the other pictures.....................

just upload to photobucket. It is easier

lol, I don't even know what photobucket is:o

I just put the SD card into computer and save the pics to "my pictures" as all my pictures are and now I get these stupid errors.

It was easier to use my camera phone and send the pics to my email and save them from there, with no problems uploading.

Scott - Sounds great! Did you replace only the two rear stock mufflers, leaving the center muffler (midway back) in place? Are you experiencing any drone at various speeds? Thanks.

I only replaced the 2 rear mufflers and not the center muffler. I figured that could always be removed later on if it was still too quiet, but it's perfect the way it is.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by drone, but maybe exhaust resonating inside the car? It's audible inside the car, but not loud at all, and once I've reached cruising speed and am not accelerating the exhaust goes silent and can't be heard unless you give the engine more load with the gas pedal.
