  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Saw the 2015 Genesis in person, with no camo. It was an amazing looking car. The interior is much better, but the real improvements were done on the exterior. I have seen the spy shots, but the production car I saw did not have the multiple LED lights for headlights, it was a single projector HID bulb. The led lights that wrapped around the test mule was not there either, it was replaced with an LED strip that was shaped like an L, from the back to the bottom of the headlight. I would say that the front looks like a mix of an Infiniti M with the grille of an Audi A6. The interior seemed roomier than the 2013 that I own. The interior spy shots that we have seen are identical to the model that was shown to me. The rear lights remind me of the new 5-series, but not shaped the same. Just the way they shined.

The specs shown was a 320hp V-6 (down 10hp) and 300lb/ft (up 10lb). The model had 19" rims, which looked very nice, but I don't know if that's going to be standard or not. Probably will be part of the R-Spec.

Really wish this model was available before I bought my 2013.

Forgot to mention that the Navigation screen looked bigger than the 2013 as well. The GUI wasn't exactly the same, but when I scrolled to the map, it looked the same. Instead of the flat buttons on the home screen, the items were lined in a circle that rotated when you turned the wheel.

What, no pics???

They made us put our cell phones in our car. No electronics were allowed.

I'm curious, how did you get access to the car?

They had an automotive focus group. I have no idea how they found me. There were a lot of people there. Most people probably don't frequent the forums. :-) Most people didn't know it was a Hyundai until after the fact. I knew it was the Genesis right away.

My lease is up on my 2011 4.6 tech next summer. Hmm....might be a good time to upgrade. :D

Do you know if the passenger seat is now cooled like the drivers and has the same amount of adjustment controls as well? This has been a big peeve of mine ever since I got my car.

Now that you and several others in your focus group has seen the car firsthand, I am sure that pics will eventually emerge of the uncamoed Genny soon.

Hyundai, please count me in on one of your focus groups. I'll definitely give you more than an earful!

Did you comment on the lack of LED's vs. the "SPY shots" and what was their response?
Was the SPEEDO and TACH mechanical or LCD screen like the '14 EQUUS?

The LED thing doesn't surprise me. Here's the KDM 2012 OEM headlight:

And this is what we get:

BAH!

I don't understand why they change the headlights....same as with the korean version of Equus and American.....are they not getting DOT approved??

I didn't mention the change in LED lights. It was just something I noticed.

Rudderman98: I didn't sit in the passenger seat. But after seeing your question, I wish I did. I didn't notice if there were any changes to the seat or if it had cooled seats this time.

Streets: The Speedometer and Tach were mechanical... I was hoping for the LCD screen, but it wasn't there. I figure they may just keep that on the Equus to differentiate it from the Genesis.

I also didn't notice the LED fog lights on the bottom, whether they were there or not. They are there in the spy shots. But they were not on during the demo, only the LEDs running along the headlights were on.

Also, there is now a button to close the trunk, like the new ES350. I forgot to mention that previously. I don't mind closing my trunk manually, since its just a sedan, but I guess it doesn't hurt to have. :)

Weird^ My dad's Azera has the KDM version of the Genesis headlight than.....it's got the LED's sorrounding the projector like in the above photo.

Leather dash?

Nicer looking steering wheel?

Unwanted cigar lighter/ash tray?

This is really cool! One question, what was the overall response of the other participants? Were you allowed to reveal to the others that it was the Genesis?

The steering wheel did look nicer. But they taped out the logo. I can tell you that they are looking to change the logo on the Genesis. The one i saw was the wing, similar to the KDM, but it had a flying-H in the middle.

Overall response of those I talked to were overwhelmingly positive. Most people were stunned that it was a Hyundai. Everyone could figure out the other cars in the line-up.

Were there paddle shifters? Did you notice the tire brand? Were you allowed engine view? What color was it? Did it appear to be a new color?
