  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello everyone,

Please do not post anything negative in the post. If you have a strong opinion, please start your own rant thread. Thank you.

I have found Megan Coilovers to be perfect for a Bag over Coil set up.

Since Megan coilovers have an integrated top mount you can slip over an air bag in place of the spring.

Also the ride can be somewhat decent since it has adjustable damping.

And using these threaded brackets from ForjWorks, the coilover can become this:

Can the damper adjuster location be rotated so that it is easily accessible with the wheel off?

Can someone take a picture of the rear lower control arm where the spring should sit. And a pic where the spring is on the body. I want to see how brackets should be made so you can run the air line to the rear bag.

Thanks,

I will worry about management later.

When I take my wheels off and put my stock ones back on and raise my car back up i'll take pictures.

How are the Megans holding up so far?

Has the adjuster clicks gotten worse, stayed the same?

Thanks,

I love the Megans. They are an overall great coilover. As far as the adjuster clicks i'll let you know sunday when I raise her back up for winter mode.

Interested in the pics as well.

Are you sure if megan coilover have integrated top plate in their coilover ?

Thanks for the pic of the rear control air. I think for a bag to fit there either the collar on the lower control air needs to be shaved off. From the bottom of the control arm, thread a bolt with a huge diameter washer to secure the bag to the control arm.

OR, instead of shaving the collar, make a bracket that makes the collar flush, then do the thread bolt and washer sandwich.

This is the idea, looking from the bottom of the control are, this will thread into the rear airbag.

I have seen these brackets for the top of rear bags:

I am just guessing.

Hope others can chime in with ideas.

OR

mounting the air bags using "D-Cups." The D-Cup will mount between the lower control arm and the air bag.

Whats nice about the D-cups is the cut out for the air line.

Looking at how the rear springs sits in the lower control arm, the bracket can sit on the control arm and being creative with threaded bolts, secure the D-cup and airbag to the control arm.

Of course this is not a Genesis lower control arm, but just giving an idea of what might be possible.

I used d-cups systems for my sedan

our bolt on airsuspension uses D-cup systems as well. mine works fine and no cutting needed bolts right up and no problems so far.

Do you have any pics of them installed? I am interested in the amount of clearance between the bags and other suspension components in the front and rear. Plus anybody who has installed bags on the Genesis hasnt posted any pics of their equipment.

I keep reading conflicting things online. I messaged a seller if these specifically have cambers plates and to my surprise, he said yes. WTF!! I swear depending on who i ask i get a different answer. So do these have pillowball mounts even if they dont have camber plates? I know there are companies that sell camber plates but im not sure if they will work on other brands.

How low does the rear go?
let me take some pictures of highest and lowest pictures.

due to genesis suspension design it's impossible (not really impossible to put it there but won't be able to adjustit.) to put adjustable plate on top but it does have pillowball mount . More likely most people thinks that all the pillowball mount is adjustable. well it is not. it should called pillowball munt with camber plate or without camber plate. and for our genesis it will be without.
