New guy here, and I have searched the threads and didn’t find anything about the "Centennial Platinum Extended Warranty". I just purchase my new R-Spec sedan to include the $3500.00 warranty. I just wanted some opinion if I should go back and get my money back? Is it worth the money, I notice on some other post about warranties that some dealers are less expensive, how would I be able to negotiate this? Do the “Wal-Mart” price match from another local Hyundai dealer?

Not sure what you mean by "Centennial" warranty, but if you are referring to the official Hyundai Platinum 10 year / 100K mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, you should only pay about $1500 max for that. You can purchase it at any dealer (in person or online), not just the dealer where your purchased the car. Go get your money back on it immediately (they will offer to drop the price, but hold out for $1500 max since some have gotten it for even less than that).
 
Well it says on my contract "Centennial", and that is what the sales person and the finance guy called it. So I should let them know I can get this cheeper at another dealership and bargin?

Make sure it is the official Hyundai extended warranty and not a 3rd party warranty. Read the paper work that came with the warranty your purchased.

When negotiating with a car salesman, do not tell them that you want to negotiate. That puts you at a disadvantage. Take a written and signed letter to the dealer with you simply stating that you decided against the warranty and want your money back. You need to do this immediately so you can get it done within the grace period.

If they ask you why, verbally tell them you can get the same warranty somewhere else for less than $1500. Don't reveal where you can get it, and don't say anything else until they lower the price to $1500 or give you the money back (if they give your money back, you can start negotiating with several dealers and online dealers for best price without the pressure of a deadline).
 
Yes after talking with 2 different Hyundai dealers other than the one I bought it at, one was at $4300 and the other was at 3470 for the Hyundai Platinum. The 3470 dealer said there is no way that someone would be able to purchase that for that little and she was very truthful about how much they pay for them and what they sell them for. But what concerns me is the 4300 dealer is a sister dealer of the one i purchased mine from.

They're blowing smoke...3470 is not a truthful quote, nor was what she was saying they pay for them. Above a certain point, much lower than these prices, it's all pure profit and an incentive to sell the most warranties in their region/area to get a bonus from corporate. They are allowed to sell them at whatever they want to.

See these threads for more realistic prices people pay for the 10/100 HMA platinum. You can buy your warranty from any Hyundai dealer in America (unless CA or FL), it applies to your VIN just the same.

Only in FL and CA do you have very little option to price shop due to insurance laws (that work ass backward against the consumer in terms of warranty shopping).
 
As far as I know, the "official" Hyundai Platinum Warranty is administered and serviced by Fidelity Warranty Services Inc. I have no idea what the "Centennial" is, but I'm skeptical that it's the same thing as the "official" Hyundai policy. Mine cost about $1200 with $100 deductible. These $3000+ prices are off the chart, and may not be for the "real thing" to boot.
 
If you paid over 1400 for a genuine Hyundai, JM&A administered extended 10/100, check to see if you we're kissed as well!!
 
Mine was $1450 with a $50 deductible. It was that or $1800 with no deductible. This was from a Hyundai Dealership in NC. Do remember seeing 4 warranty options, the one I chose was the 2nd. The most expensive I believe was around $3500 cant remember what extra things it provided.

I just think its a waste of money to get suckered into buying an extended warranty on a new car. Specially one with the warranty like Hyundai's.

Secondly, the finance manager took you to the cleaners and probably high fived himself on the mirror after you left. Get back there and get your money back. STAT!

I agree. Hyundai gives you 5 / 50 bumper to bumper and 10 /100k what more would you need?
I hate these F&I dealer guys trying to drive up the price on stuff you don't really need.
I also thank you for your service.
 
Hyundai's warrenty is 10/100 for the drive train only. 5/50 for everything else except electronics which are 3/36. So if your going to keep it longer than 3 years, it's worth it in my opnion due to the complexity of the electronics in the vechicle to buy the full 10/100 complete bumper to bumper warrenty. Your's may vary.

But as others have stated, you can get it for a whole lot less.

Actually the bumper to bumper is 5 years/60,000 miles.:) but your are correct with the electronics, although I believe the amp is covered for 5 years.

hyundai warranty on rspec 10/100 bumper to bumper $1100 0$ deductable.... i believe the $0 was for dealer i bought at any other dealer would be $50... but could be mistaken.
