Here is a quick vid on what the bulbs look like after the install. Notice instant on and off just like the LED's on the mirrors of the Genesis. These bulbs are 1200 lumens each. Bottom video shows comparison incandescent vs the LED bulb. Skip to 1:20. This topic was previously discussed on this thread. The bulbs can be found at this site

Pic of the bulb and load resistor that is plug and play. Just snap the resistor plug into the bulbs plug and install bulb as normal. Super simple install in less then 5 minutes.

very nice where did you get the LED bulb and resistor? Did the LED bulb come with the wire that leeds to the resistor?

Sorry that I didn't include the important info! I have updated my OP to include the links. The picture below is the bulb ordered and the 2nd pic is probably a better option since a load resistor isn't needed. My bulb did come with the resistor.

The revolutionary new design makes this LED bulb error free so there is no warning on dashboard nor hyper flash problems.

We have conducted a long test on a 2006 BMW E60 525i front turn signal lights, and a 2009 Mercedes W204 C Class front turn signal lights. All work great, no error on dashboard and no hyper flashing problem.

Package

One pair (2) 21-SMD Single Filament Error Free 3156 LED bulbs built with Plug-N-Play Equalizer (Xenon White or Amber Yellow)

The second pic is probably a better option which costs more, but no load resistor is needed.

This page features the Super Bright Error Free No Resistor Required 20-SMD 5050 1156 LED Bulbs for European car such as Audi, BMW or Mercedes for turn signal lights or backup lights.

The revolutionary new design makes possible to have CAN-bus load resistors built-in, the wattage for each LED bulb is 18W so these LED bulbs are completely error free for all European cars and there's no annoying hyper flash problem

Followup for this product:

I have removed the LED bulbs and replaced them back with the OEM bulbs. The LED bulbs are not bright enough and completly wash out in the sun. One afternoon I was driving the Genesis and my wife was behind me and the sun was to our backs. Once we got home she asked why I wasn't using my turn signals. I looked at her puzzled and said that I was. I went out and checked the lights, and both worked. The bulbs do not enough lumens or the correct light spread.

You have to spend $$$ if you want LED's to replace regular bulbs. They are not cheap, but http://Vleds.com have bulbs that will be visible during the day.

These bulbs are a descent quality LED, and the highest light output offered at the time of purchase. LED's are known to have much less light output then other sources, but I was hoping these bulbs would be bright enough. They are not even close.

The problem with Vled's store is they do not offer an LED that is Error Free, and having to use a load resistor is at the point of not worth it for me.

I agree that the resistors are a PITA, but, I assure you they have LED's far brighter than 90%+ of all the other guys, regardless of what they claim. I know from painful (read: expensive) experience.

V-Leds ratings on the various types they sell are accurate. If you buy the brightest, you pay the most, and you get something that works. An '08 Avalon was my last commuter and the rear turn signal design is a thin strip that does not lend itself to a LED conversion, but these guys did have a bulb that worked well even in sunlight, but again, it was not cheap. All regular bulbs in my Genesis are getting the V-Led treatment. At least I was able to save the 921 back up bulbs from the Avalon, they are the same.

Thanks for the comments:) The bulbs I got were around $45, but I even have seen LED bulbs as much as $75 a piece:eek: The sky is the limit with lighting:D

The "super duper double throw down" signal bulbs for the Avalon were about $80/pair, but the Phillips "Triton" bulbs are supposed to be better and have come down a little. The first ones I tried were just not usable in daylight. I've given up on "cheap" bulbs. I may try these for the Genesis, the stock halogen bulbs look out of place in the rear with the mirror and tail LED's:

Wow, thanks for the product link! Looks pretty impressive. Keep us updated if you end up changing out some bulbs.

So far, all under door lights and the footwells to 168 LEDs because I had a bunch of them laying around. These:

http://www.vleds.com/bulb/194-168-158-led/5k-white-3-chip-5-led-light-bulbs-194-168-158-2821-1-pair.html

Cheap, and easily as bright as a stock bulb. When doing the footwells, I noticed the factory actually put a blue rubber cover over the bulb, possibly to get the color similar to the dash lighting. The 5K LEDs are brighter than they need to be and I'll be going for the blue match with these, but they haven't arrived yet:

http://www.vleds.com/bulb/194-168-158-led/blue-3-chip-5-led-light-bulbs-194-168-158-2821-1-pair.html

For the trunk and license plate, what is listed is not the correct bulb. A 6418 is too long to fit, so I ordered (backordered):

http://www.vleds.com/5k-white-1-5w-3-led-high-power-universal-dome-light-bulb-31-36mm-adjustable.html

and:

http://www.vleds.com/5k-white-1-5w-3-led-high-power-universal-dome-light-bulb-31-36mm-adjustable.html

and for the vanity lights:

http://www.vleds.com/5k-white-1w-hp-led-dome-light-bulb-3022-3021-29mm.html

since there's no way to get much of a bulb in there.

I am having trouble getting to the license plate lights...I can get the screws out , but the clear cover and light housing will not come out...Any suggestion...?

Yes, these are a pain. The opening isn't quite big enough to make it easy. Take out the screws until the housing is loose. Then put one screw back in 1-2 turns until it gabs the housing, but not the mount in the trunk lid. it makes a pretty good handle to pry the whole thing out.

All my bulbs have been changed over to LED a couple of years ago. All purchased from Autolumination.com Never had a bulb go bad yet. Only bulbs I did not replace were for the vanity mirrors. Can't figure how to get the housing out without breaking it, or damaging the headliner.

Never tried those guys, and although I've never had a failure, honestly I did have 1 bad LED out of the box from V-LEDs once. Only once in 5+ years and they did take care of it.

I got the:

http://www.vleds.com/bulb-type/festoon-dome-vanity/3175-31mm-led/white-led/5k-white-3-chip-4-led-dome-light-bulb-3175-de3175-31mm.html

For the glove/trunk and they are prefect for the glove (not too bright, white, no blue), but I'd like the trunk brighter still, so these are the upgrade I pasted before, but back ordered:

http://www.vleds.com/bulb-type/festoon-dome-vanity/3175-31mm-led/white-led/5k-white-1-5w-3-led-high-power-universal-dome-light-bulb-31-36mm-adjustable.html

The license plate takes a longer bulb (36-39mm is ideal), so these are next:

http://www.vleds.com/bulb-type/festoon-dome-vanity/6418-38mm-led/5k-white-1-5w-3-led-high-power-universal-dome-light-bulb-37mm-45mm-adjustable.html

Not sure on the Tritons for turn signals yet, my big hands can't even get the old ones out,,,,,,,,,,so now I'm looking at front DRL/high beam, and although I've been happy with Hoen Xenon match bulbs in the past, the H8 fog light bulbs I just got from them are a bust. Stay tuned........

OK, the foot well bulbs showed yesterday:

http://www.vleds.com/bulb/194-168-158-led/blue-3-chip-5-led-light-bulbs-194-168-158-2821-1-pair.html

Nice match to the blue dash lighting, but may be a bit "ricer".

I guess I'll leave them in.

I have no idea how, but I ordered just the one pair for the foot wells, but received 3 pairs. V-LEDs says keep 'em, so I have 2 pairs for 2 board members. I think I can get away with mailing them, so the first 2 guys that P.M. contact info get a free pair.

More to come....................

I have the same LED color in my footwells also. I actually really like the blue in the footwells, it's tame and comfortable lighting. I had the white LED's in the footwells prior, but didn't really like them in the footwells.

Here are a few pics from member MADMOE - Looks good, but I feel like the blue looks harsh in the front footwell pic, but I know mine in person isn't harsh at all.

Agreed, it's not that over the top. These don't appear to be quite that bright.

First free pair of blue 168's goes to OCKevin.

Last pair goes to Philth.

Guys, these are going US mail today in regular envelopes. Hopefully that's good enough for the post office since anything fancier would cost more than the bulbs. Enjoy.
