  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2011 Genesis Sedan Changes

Jeff,

3. The redesigned Genesis will not be out until 2014.

Model year 2014 or calendar year 2014 which would mean model year 2015? Big difference - one means a five year cycle which used to be standard, the other a six year cycle that seems to be becoming more popular. I was hoping for a five year cycle which would dovetail nicely with the five year 60k warranty on my '09.

Pretty sure he means model year. But the actual release date will depend on when it is done (and adequately tested), which could be a bit earlier than fall 2013, or possibly delayed until early calendar year 2014 (in which case it might be released as a 2015 model). But they are shooting for 2014 model year released fall of 2013.

I have a feeling that the 5.0 is/was/maybe designed for the Equus. Such a big sedan...

The 5.0 was developed for the LWB version of the Equus.

The armored version of the Equus reportedly may get the 5.5 Tau.

Also could depend on whether Hyundai actually goes ahead w/ the launch of a luxury brand - which they would want to do simultaneously w/ the 2G Genesis.

New Engine and 8 speed are now confirmed:
We want Microsoft Sync in 2011 model please!!
That Ford/LIncoln Touch system is amazing.
Sync+Premium Audio = awesome!

The Hyundai system is going to be a bit different from Kia's.

Kia already has their version of SYNC (called UVO), it's all but a sure thing Hyundai will get it too. Presumably with the Genesis being the first in line.
