  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I actually got it to work. Now to do a whole bunch of clean up, make it small and determine if there is any thing that it screws up ( don't think so ) but more testing needed.

Basically the Genesis Driver information System is looking is looking for a switch closure from the "KNOB" after the car is started before it will dismiss the acceptance screen ( the Nag)

So I start a time delay that starts when the car is started and after my selected time it momentarily closes a "Switch" that is wired in parallel to the "Know " switch. This is a very high input impedance switch so that when it is open the knob closures cannot tell it's there. This makes the system think the know has been pushed, so I don't have to do it manually.

Same circuit I used on my Nissan Murano's :)

That's great! Where do I send a check!?

Wow, nice job. Is this something that amatuers can do? The wiring and electronics in the Genesis already seem to, peridically, have a mind of there own.

Hopefully new wheel come in Friday so maybe new tires, etc. Saturday Then next week for install of more LEDs and Fuse taps and then for starting some wiring and schematic drawings. What I did was without a circuit board or using power from the car. I had a 5vdc supply and a 12 volt relay and a RC timer, need a bunch of work to have something mountable in the car. BUT IT WORKED! hopefully I'll get it refined and with a wired up board so I don't have to make my own printed circuit and then you won't have to either. I unfortunately have too many health problems right now to get into providing these for others but a drawing, schematic, installation steps and some pictures are in my hopefully future to provide. Rest assured I'll make strong efforts to do so. When I did mine on the Muranos I was feeling fit as a fiddle and things could go swimmingly along.

Not for amatuers :)

Clever idea, Gripper Don! Two quick questions: how did you go about getting at the DIS control switch to wire the contact, and do you have a schematic you can post? TIA

Not yet but hopefully I will, I am having some medical problems at this time that are interfering with car putzing right now.

Got at the switch by disassembly of the center counsol to expose the switch contacts located at the base of the control knob.

Over at nissanmurano.org I have about 4500 posts you can do searches, after it go started there was a guy in NY that actually built the setup on a small circuit board and sold them for a while, but I think he may have gone away, It actually has been a number of cars ago that I did that Murano > another Murano > SLK320 > VW Phaeton > Altima Hybrid > Genesis so it has turned out to have to re invent the wheel all over again.

Thanks again for the info. Hope the health issues are a thing of the past for you soon....
