  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

R-Spec 5.0 TUNE opportunity BTRcc

Coming from the coupe community I'm pretty much aware of which vendors are capable of tuning KDM engines in the N. America continent (Canada and US). Not a lot of them out there unfortunately.
This is what I know, currently there are two reputable names, Blood Type for Racing aka BTR (located in IL) and SeoulFul Racing aka SFR (located in PA).
BTR usually brings in its tuners from ROK once the local tuning host has gathered enough interests and money (usually paid in full) plus securing a local dyno shop with date confirmed.
Jay Kim of SFR who performs much of the custom tuning himself and it can be done at his own local shop or wherever there are enough interests and partially paid for in order to warrant him a trip to your local city.
The minimum requirement is usually 10 cars or more. A local host is to make sure he/she can secure a shop (with a dyno) with date confirmed upon SFR's visit.
I have pesonally met Jay who has tuned my coupe twice (stage 1 & 1.5), both times in Texas (Houston and DFW).
A nice guy who knows his stuff.
BTR which I do not know much about other than trading PMs with Sam, a few years ago. I have no doubt BTR is just capable as SFR.
As for our sedan, I have traded pm with SFR asking him about the possibility but so far the only response I got was...
"We can sure do that too... Yet again we do all the testings in house @ SFR USA.
I actually got contacted by few locals recently and it's just matter of time"
Keep my fingers crossed! :)

Any idea on whether the potential Rspec ecu work might directly port over or be easily adaptable to the newly tweaked '15 5.0?

Just sent a pm to SFR asking for an update.
Stay tuned if I knew anything better or new.

SFR is right around the corner from me...

I'd be glad to drop my 2011 4.6 off and let them play with it for a while...

Summer is here, and I can ride the motorcycle if needed...

Jay I believe is still in S Korea til July the 17th.
Let's hope to hear from him soon as far as performance tuning ability.
All he needs to do for us is remove rev limiter, shifting lag, 1:1 throttle response, and enhance drivability through out the power band then I'm game.:)

You forgot the speed gov. and ESC :D

Oh yeah, of course it is!

I'm just curious haw really fast those cars are. ;)

btw.
I though they were limited to 150? ....still didn't get a chance to run and beat 140. Oh well, maybe it will never happen, who knows

Count me in if the tuner is focused on the transmission and ESC. I installed a Superchips Cortex module in my G8. I had full control over the shift points, the AFM and speed limiter. It was well worth the price. Removed the tune from the car before I traded it for the coupe.

A module like that for the Rspec would be perfect. There's plenty of power in the engine. Just need to wake up the lazy transmission.

Put me on the list if one comes around.

Has anyone heard anything or found any one who will work on these cars?

good luck. ive been sub'd since november last. no one has made a peep. a mechanic at my local hyundai shop told me he tuned his friends ride into a 'monster' but got all coy when i expressed interest about spreading the love. i would even be willing to travel to PA if the jay guy was able to do anything with this car. thought videopho was in contact with him?

I sent hte e-mail... neve got a response.

if I did... it could have gone to my junk follder... doubt it though.

Actually they did in another thread. They said there has been no interest in diving into 5.0L sedan tuning at this time.

it doesnt look like it is going to happen

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I have been subbed to this thread forever and it doesn't appear the two companies mentioned here are going to do anything. ARK performance built a highly-modded Genesis sedan and brought it to SEMA this year. Everything I want is done to that car...so I emailed them this morning and inquired about their plans for moving forward with this product line. I mentioned this thread as well.

Here is the link to their site: http://www.arkperformanceusa.com/ark_01_aboutark.php

Here is just one article on the mods: http://wot.motortrend.com/1410_supercharged_2015_hyundai_genesis_sedan_5_0l_heads_to_sema.html

and here is the link to ARK's email: info@arkperformanceusa.com

Contact them! Flood that inbox with requests! Maybe we'll get some traction.
