  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just got the Tire Rack Magazine and there are new tires that are available for the Genesis with the 235/50/18 set up:

Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus;

Hyundai Genesis Sedan 4.6
Size: 235/50R18
Sidewall Style: Blackwall
Serv. Desc: 97W
UTQG: None

I have always had good experiences with Bridgestone tires. I just got a set of Potenza S-04's on my 5 series BMW and love them. I also have a set of OEM RFT's RE050A on a 335i, as far as RFT's go they have been terrific.

I just had these installed on my genny. They replaced the serenity tires that lasted 43000 miles. The tires are very quiet and MotorTrend states that they are very good.

They're more expensive than some other tires in the same category, but I have discovered long ago, saving money on tires on the front end is a false economy.

I have had these exact tires on my Genesis for the last year and a half. 25,000 miles on them now and they have been great!

Edit : Actually, I don't have the Serenity Plus, Just the Serenity. ----- Do you know what the difference is?

They're even better when they're installed on the back end too. :)

Seriously, I think I'm going to be in the market for Dunlop replacements fairly soon and will strongly consider these. I could use some Serenity these days.

The Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus is brand new this month (June 2012) The tire is more energy efficient, quieter, and even better in rain and snow. Expensive yes, but you get long lasting tread, excellent traction, smooth ride, great handling with the W rated. Its the same old story "you get what you pay for" I never skimp on tires, because my family's lives rides on them. Look up the Motortrend article.

Just looked at the Motor Trend article and realized that I'd seen it before. Interesting that the Serenity Plus is a buck cheaper than the Serenity at tirerack.com. Completely agree on not skimping on tires.

The Bridgestone Turanza with Serenity Plus builds on the current Turanza Serenity tire's dry and wet performance, while the "Plus" is for added snow performance, Bridgestone claims. It also features longer wear ratings and reduced fuel consumption from its lower rolling resistance coefficient (RRC), yet retains its dry handling characteristics and quiet ride.

Thanks for the info. My original Dunlops have less than 15K miles on them and they look balder than me. I'm planning on replacing them later this year anyway. The new Turanza Serenity Plus looks like a good replacement.

One question though. I was thinking about going +1 and buy the 245/50/18. Would they fit in the OEM 4.6 18" wheels?

a Touring Tire vs. High Performance but has many high performance qualities. Tread identical looking to the Continental EXTREME DWS, which I prefer the look of the sidewall to the adult diaper name of the Bridgestone.

I've never had good luck with Conti's. There are numerous threads about the DWS on here and BMW forums about tires pulling to the right. Just type "DWS pulling to the right" in the google machine and you'll see what I mean. It's even featured on Goss' Garage that the DWS has high road force variation:

Have Conti's on my Mercedes

After the Conti DWS caused major pulling on my Genesis, I put the General GMax on. Could not be happier.
