  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is there anything different in the swap on a 2012?

If you are speaking of the steering wheel Air Bag Module, the center piece with the H emblem to my knowledge there is no difference in the 2012. The swap should be the same as previous years.

I have the Genesis steering wheel wing airbag and 4, 18" wheel winged caps for sale cheap. (Replaced stock items to car, when I traded my 2009 4.6, and bought the Equus.) location, central Florida.

First what color is the airbag and how much do you want for it shipped to 18940? Do you have any pics?

Yes I am calling first dibs.

HI, I'm new in this forum but wanted to ask if I need to change the whole airbag to change the "H" and rebadge with the wings logo? I just bought a 2012 Genesis and ordered the wings, but just not sure if is necessary to change the whole airbag to rebadge or I just rather live with the "H" for now. lol!

Will appreciate your feedback.

You can purchase a non-Hyundai aftermarket badge to stick over the H on the airbag for about $20 (check ebay). It is not necessary nor advisable to remove the H if you put the new badge on top of the H.

Whether or not you can live with the H on the airbag is up to you (I haven't changed mine, even though I changed the trunk and wheel badges).

sold.

Just finished the airbag swap today on my 2012 R-Spec. Followed the advice on the forums here and did it myself. Took some pictures during the process attached here. Everything was smooth. Just had to reset the clock after reconnecting the battery. Took about 20 mins. The Torx is actually a T30 not a T40 as listed on the other post for the 2012 Genesis.

Still debating on whether to do the front wing badge on the hood. I have it ground down to mount just still can't commit to it.

Looks beautiful. Can't wait to do mine.

Don't worry about the commitment when installing the front wing badge. Just like removing the rear H a little prying or sawing with dental floss can take it off if you don't like it.

I received the kdm airbag, I just need to find a place that will install it now. I'm in SoCal...haven't looked very much yet, only received it yesterday.

There is a nice thread on this site that displays step by step pictures on how to do it. Even I could change the airbag myself when I got mine, and that's a miracle lol. My local dealership wouldn't do it due to liability issues so I had no choice unless I wanted to travel to another city.

Agree it's so easy, my wife could do it!
