  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis most reliable mid-size luxury

Aren't we smart car owners?!

I got bit a few times when I was young by cars with flash. Wised up and do my homework now. Also when I purchase a car that is very reliable I do not buy another until it reaches about 225,000 miles. So maybe with the Genny 300,000 miles.

You and me both. No offense to Genesis owners in general, but I've been on these boards for nearly a year and half, reading pretty much every single thread my whole time here. I just needed to make sure the car was all it was cracked up to be. It is.

Picking up an R Spec next week - I guess you can say I've "done my homework" this time around. Not so much with my current car...

This is great news, by the way - thanks for posting the link, guys!

I loved this part:

"The Genesis sedan launched in the 2009 model year and earned Hyundai's first-ever North American Car of the Year honor. J.D. Power and Associates surveys original owners three years after their vehicle purchase, so 2012 was the first year Genesis was included in the VDS, and it was the only category award recipient in its first year of eligibility."

:

Great news, I was wondering if you'd pick the Genesis in the end.

Yeah, though the wait is costing me about a grand more than I had hoped (truecar prices went up in the last two weeks.... guess Hyundai needs to pay for all that superbowl advertising SOMEHOW...)

There's not a lot of other cars out there that interest me at the moment. Plus I want to pick up an R Spec now in the off-chance Hyundai slaps the new coupe's grill on the upcoming sedan redesign; or that stupid "crease" on the grill like the new Azera. The whole reason I like the Genny is because it is simple, uncomplicated and classy. What is the point of making new car styling "busy" for the sake of calling it contemporary?

I hope they don't ruin the sedan in the redesign. If they don't, I'll be trading up to AWD and Bluelink.

If they do... got meself a proper R Spec!

I knew all the reading I did in the forum was worthwhile, now the world will know how smart we all are! Genesis rocks!

Wow! For some reason (maybe your signature photo), I always assumed you already had an R-Spec. You will absolutely love it. Proper black is coming, I take it!

A carbon copy of yours, yes! Bought the wings almost a year ago (all of them)... and already got an appointment for tint.

AND YES, PROPER BLACK!

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
What's more interesting about this JD Power report is that they decided to put the Genesis in the mid size luxury category.
Guess which car came in second in this category?
MB E class.

Therefore, even if the general public may not consider the Genesis to be in the same league, the people at JD Power seem to think so, just like many of us who cross shopped the E class and 5 series.

Reading this makes me think of my multiple German car ownership experiences. . . and ex wives. vs. my 2012 R-Spec and current wife. :D

German cars and ex wives:

Sleek, runs like a racehorse, exotic, passionate (see moodiness below).
Full of surprises (but not always good ones).
$6,000-8,000 trips to the jewelry store.
Continuous spa, nail and hair appointments.
Designer dresses and dresses, and dresses.
High maintenance in other ways.
Moodiness -- holy cow, moods changed at the speed of light.
Fair-weather loyalty.

2012 R-Spec

Sleek, runs like a racehorse, exotic, passionate.
A classic beauty whose looks will never age.
Loyal, steady, dependable (but never dull).
Knows how to look fantastic in anything she wears.
Low maintenance.
Seeks to please.
Did I say loyal?

Rock on, Hyundai! :D

Mine has been very unreliable. My bad luck. It happens.

What is not acceptable is the dealership and Hyundai's response.

You all enjoy them and I am envious. Just wish mine was one of the good ones.
