Thanks for the update, Michael. Consumer Reports car guide just came out and in their survey the Hyundai Genesis rated above average overall. It's lowest rating was in the "audio system", where it was just average, followed by the "body hardware" and "power equipment" which were above average. All other categories were much better than average.

In comparison, the '08 Mercedes E-class "power equipment" and "audio system" were much worse than average followed by the brakes which were worse than average.

The '08 BMW's "audio system" was also much worse than average, followed by it's "body hardware" and "power equipment" which were average.

What is more disconcerting is the BMW's electrical system which doesn't fare well longer term and is very expensive to fix. Same goes for the Mercedes climate system.
