  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am a new owner of a 2010 4.6 Genesis with the Tech package. I have an iPhone which I have connected with the iPod cable that came with this package. When I am playing music through the iPhone and switch to the navigation screen, there is a line on the top of the screen that shows what song is playing. This line goes away after a few seconds. My question is if there is anyway to get this information to either re-display, or to stay, on the navigation screen. The only way I have found to get it back at this point is to switch back to the iPod and then back to the navigation screen. There must be a better way.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Not sure this helps. I have a 2009 4.6 with Tech package,

If I change the track using the steering wheel while on the navi screen the new track shows for a short period of time.

I can't get that to stay on screen however.

I'm looking for this info too, 2010 4.6 with Tech, and pretty much want to know the name of the song/artist from any source--FM, XM, iPod, on whatever screen I'm on, but I am mainly on Map.

Maybe If you enter the Engineering menu you can set this.

Press info/phone
Press again to enter phone menu
Select phonebook - new entry
Select " 1@ " then OK
Enter " ##0324#0704## " Then OK

You can really mess things up if you change the wrong settings in here so be carefull

The song info display is pretty pathetic in this vehicle - especially considering the great quality of audio hardware in it. I secretly wish for a software/firmware update to come along at some point, but deep down I know it isn't going to. You can't ever have it all, I suppose. :)

The best I've been able to come up with is to stay put on the "INFO" screen. Even though it's far from perfect, it does show some track info on the top and bottom of the display at all times. I believe the track/file name is at the top, and the artist/album/folder name is at the bottom (depending what media source type is being used).

Very interesting (especially the variant menu that shows the different regions), but nothing evident to the title display. Thanks for the info, Hytech. :)

Hytech, thank you for your response. I'm certainly not adverse to trying this. Before I do, I would like to know what might get messed up if this doesn't work. Also, if this does something I don't want, how do I reverse it? Do I just delete the phone book entry, or do I need to do a reset?

Thanks again for your suggestions.

It doesn't actually create an entry...it just gives you access to the diagnostic menu of the Driver Information System and Lexicon unit in the Technology Package. I looked through every option and there's nothing that would affect the display of song titles that you posted about. It's just an interesting peek behind the scenes.

I didn't see anything that would really break anything, since it's mostly diagnostic in nature. And it's all related to the DIS/Lexicon, so messing up a setting won't harm anything other than that system's functionality. At worst, you'd need to go to the dealer to have them reset things back to default, probably at your cost due to poking around where you're not supposed to be.

Now what we need is a korean source on Factory rear LCDs and TV tuners. from what I can tell if you had all this hooked up you could activate it in the variant coding menu.

Good idea on the rear monitors, but I think the Korean tuners are DMB, not the North American ATSC or NTSC. :(

Yea you are right I didn't think of that.

Thanks Guys, I appreciate the info. I talked with Hyundia techs in Ulsan. They reminded me that if you change anything, put it back when you go in for work or the warranty is void.

Hey Hytech,

I know this is a two year old post, but I'm hoping you still have a watch on this thread.
You seem to be the only one that knows anything about the Service/Options Menu on these cars, so maybe you can help me out here.

I have a source for the Korean 2012 Genesis Sedan Grille with the Forward Facing Camera that I'd like to add to my R-Spec.
Before I have the unit shipped from Korea, I'd like to know I can get to the options menu on the Lexicon.
I tried the routine you posted here, but it doesn't work on the 2012 models.

Do you know the procedure for the newer models?

HYTECH, do you happen to know how to fix this issue?

Every time I use Bluetooth on this system, when I leave the car and get back in I get blasted by XM Channel 1, then to turn it off, I have to press mode, then i get xm blasting through, then I press mode, then i get xm blasting through, then I press mode, then i get xm blasting through, then FM.

I have tried setting all XM channels to silent channel 0 but it never stays that way.

I just want to turn XM off.
